2025 has been a most abundant Season and I’ve chosen a review from one of our guests to paint the picture better than I ever could. Their words express the vibe we hope to impart to each of you, every time you’re here.
Our springtime wedding at Burning Barrel was brimming with joy and abundance. We couldn’t imagine a place more aligned with our values and full of beauty. Sustainability, land stewardship and good food support all relationships, and they are at the foundation of ours and of everything undertaken at Burning Barrel.
We are endlessly grateful for the fruits of Kristin and Brian’s labors: the welcoming setting, the fresh garden greenery, the chicken cooked to perfection, the thoughtfulness with which each ingredient was chosen and each farmer acknowledged. Our loved ones are still talking about the farm and the dinner - we've never heard friends discuss beans with such reverence.
Kristin and Brian did such an incredible job of thinking of all the details that make a wedding unforgettable. Some of the details we were taken away with include the bonfire setting the mood as the sun set, thinly mowed paths through the prairie inviting for exploration, and allowing guests to peruse their vegetable and livestock raising operations prior to festivities starting. From beginning to end, our wedding was magical.
We would describe the experience as a state of rapture: hearts and bellies full, basking in the warm rose hues of a sunset that defied all weather predictions, the taste of rhubarb tang as we slipped away to dance with fireflies and June bugs, distant thunder echoing the swell of horns in a bluesy groove.
